2023 wedding trends we’re excited to see
A new year means new trends, the reimagining of old trends, and all the experimentation for couples! 2023 weddings are going to feel unique and we’re so excited to see them come to life. While 2022 was all about Bridgerton-inspired weddings, impressive escort card walls, and fireworks, 2023 weddings are taking things in a different direction. Here’s what’s trending for 2023 weddings:
Elaborate floral and less greenery
Greenery is always a beautiful way to bring the outdoors in, but 2023 couples aren’t shying away from lots of floral. In fact, breathtaking floral pieces are being prioritized over other design elements. We’re expecting to see this floral focus in a few ways: through centrepieces, bridal bouquets, and even along the aisles. You can play around with textures while doing a monochromatic floral look, or bring in all the flowers in bold colours for a playful and fun take.

Candid wedding photos
We’re officially moving away from posed photography and embracing more editorial-style photos. Couples are increasingly looking for wedding photos that capture the emotions of the day and that help to tell their love story. To take candid wedding photos a step further, have you noticed the trend of blurry photos? If that’s your aesthetic, then don’t shy away from it for your 2023 wedding!
Touches of black
We may be a little biased here, but we absolutely love incorporating touches of black into wedding design. In fact, we even have a couple considering opting for a black vinyl dance floor instead of the traditional white one. Here are a few ideas on how to incorporate small touches of black into your wedding, though we do love the big and bold uses of black!
Ceiling installations
Decor doesn’t stop at eye-level, and 2023 weddings will see an increase in ceiling installations that add drama and dimension to the space. Ceiling installations can range from large suspended floral pieces, a focus on unique lighting, or an explosion of candles to really bring that romantic feeling. If this is a trend you’re excited for, be sure to check that your venue allows ceiling installations, or talk to your wedding designer about creating freestanding installations that give you the same effect.

Shades of orange
While “Viva Magenta” is the colour of the year for 2023, Pinterest declared that shades of orange are skyrocketing across couples’ wedding boards. Here are the statistics for searches:
